templarkillerEdward is an OC from the Dragon Age universe.
Edward was born in Ferelden to peasant parents who abandoned him when he was six at the nearest Chantry when they couldn’t afford to feed him. Edward hated the strict Chantry environment, and he was discouraged from ever questioning Chantry doctrine, causing him to hate the Chantry even more. When he came of age, the Revered Mother gave him to the Templar order.
Edward didn’t want to be a Templar, but he had nowhere to go and reluctantly got trained as a Knight recruit. The first Harrowing he witnessed was a success, but he never felt right about the practice, since he could see that the mage was set up to fail. These thoughts were confirmed when the second Harrowing he witnessed ended in the mage’s death when they took too long to finish. Everywhere he looked, mages were mistreated and abused, which made his stomach churn, but any attempt to stop his fellow Templars ended in him being reprimanded.
A few years before the Kirkwall rebellion, he witnessed a mage being made Tranquil for a petty reason. This finally made him grow a spine. He threw off his armor, sword and shield and left the Templars. As he left, he made a vow to never raise his sword against a mage and to do what he could to end the Templar order, to make up for ever having been a part of the Templars in the first place.
He refuses to harm or kill any mage, or pass along what he learned in the Templars. He hates Templars and the Chantry, and will gladly teach others how to fight them. He still carries a lot of guilt on him, because he knows that by being a part of the Templar order, he was contributing to the oppression of mages.

Weapon: He carries a sword and a pike, and he alternates between weapons.
Armor: Heavy armor, black in color with gray trim. The left pauldron and right gauntlet each have a crossed out Templar symbol on them.
Casual attire: Black pants, dark blue shirt, a silver ring on his left hand.
Scars: A knife scar on his upper arm, and a scar on his stomach where an arrow pierced him.
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
